The aim of UNESCO Clubs is to promote the understanding of the aims and activities of UNESCO, and to make better known its work. UNESCO’s mission is to work for peace through the defense of fundamental values of human rights, tolerance and participation. In its action, youth are a focus, because they are a gauge of change for the future, while always a source of dynamism for the present. |

| Message from the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations |
On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the UNESCO Club (Malta), I send you here with my warm congratulations and sincere appreciation for your continuous efforts in promoting the ideals of UNESCO in Malta as well in participating in the strengths of the m ovement of UNESCO Clubs world-wide. It is indeed an honour for me to have personal and last long relations with Mr. Albert Rutter whom I know since many years and who has supported my candidature as president of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs Centres and Associations during the last world congress in Cyprus last year, as well as my candidature as president of EFUCA in Busteni, Romania. Please convey to all members of your Club my best regards and warm wishes for a successful continuation of your social and cultural work and activities for the benefit of your society and your country. I wish all of you my best regards and warm feelings. George Christophides
